Independent Living affords active seniors the benefits of living at home without the worry of home maintenance, housekeeping chores, laundry and cooking. Residents enjoy educational, cultural, spiritual, social and fitness opportunities through the community’s programming.
Assisted Living is best for seniors who need some help with certain everyday tasks such as getting dressed, bathing, and taking medications and may also have specific care plans to address fall risk, poor nutrition or other individualized needs.
Memory Care provides a specialized, safe and secure care environment for those living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive conditions.
Legend Gardens offers independent living, assisted living and memory care with services and amenities like full-service dining, full-service laundry & housekeeping, transportation, 24-hour staff, and a well-rounded schedule of social, educational and cultural opportunities.
2. Can someone with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia live at Legend Gardens?
Yes. The Emery House, our state-of-the-art memory care facility, is designed around the unique needs of loved ones living with memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Residents enjoy an inviting environment and attentive care from our dedicated, highly experienced team who are always happy to help 24/7.
We offer intimate, comfortable rooms, various activities, living & dining areas, and grounds that are beautifully landscaped, with secured outdoor courtyards.
3. How much does it cost to live at Legend Gardens?
Legend Gardens offer private-pay residences on a month-to-month basis. Residents pay a single monthly rental rate that includes dining, events, housekeeping & laundry services, apartment and community maintenance, and scheduled transportation. We have many room types with associated cost options to help fit your budget.
4. Does Medicare cover assisted living facilities?
No, Medicare does not cover any of the cost of assisted living services. Some residents carry long-term care Insurance that helps and those individuals who served in the armed forces, may qualify for benefits under the VET Administration. Legend Garden is considered private-pay.
5. Is living at Legend Gardens tax-deductible?
You may be eligible for certain deductions on your tax return depending on the types of services and the level of care you require. We suggest you review your tax situation with your CPA.
6. Is a security deposit required? How about other fees?
Upon move-in, our residents pay a small security deposit and a community fee.
7. Can I bring my own furnishings to my apartment?
Absolutely. This is your home and you should have all the comforts and furnishings you enjoy. Our residents take pride in decorating their apartments and adding their own personal touches to their homes.
8. Can Legend Gardens provide me with furniture?
Yes, there are furnishings available AT NO ADDITIONAL COST should you choose not to bring your own furniture.
9. Can I bring my pet to Legend Gardens?
Legend Gardens allows residents to keep pets in their apartment as long as the pets are vaccinated and licensed. Size and temperament requirements apply.
10. Are phone, cable television and internet /wi-fi services available?
Yes, cable television and phone service are available at an additional nominal cost. Free high-speed wireless internet access is available to residents and their guests from their own electronic devices.
11. Is smoking allowed at Legend Gardens?
Legend Gardens is a non-smoking environment.
12. What if I have a medical emergency?
All of our residences are equipped with an emergency alert, Nurse Call system. We also have pendant systems available. Staff members are on-site 24 hours a day to respond and offer immediate assistance and call emergency services if needed.
13. How’s the food at Legend Gardens?
Our residents dine with their neighbors and we offer delicious menu options created and prepared by our professional chef. Many special dietary requirements, including no-salt-added and no-concentrated-sweets diets are easily accommodated. Should they like, our residents may eat their meals in their in-room kitchenette.
14. Will I have privacy?
One of the things people enjoy most about living at Legend Gardens is that they can enjoy the warm company of friends and neighbors when they want to and relax in the privacy of their own apartments whenever they prefer.
15. Is local transportation available?
Scheduled transportation to local appointments, errands and outings is included in the monthly rental rate.
16. May I bring my car?
Yes, as long as you have a valid driver’s license. Free parking is available for residents and visitors.
17. Will I be able to entertain family or friends for an occasional special luncheon or dinner?
Yes. Friends and families are a big part of everyone’s life and we strive to make things as “home-like” as possible.
